The program is designed to introduce boys and girls to basketball who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and live in the Anthony Wayne School District.
Each skills session is lead by a representative from our high school basketball coaching staffs. Volunteer parents coaches will assist our high school coaches in running players through different drills that will emphasize the essentials necessary to provide a solid introduction to the game -- dribbling, shooting, rebounding, passing, screening and defense.
Focusing on the basics is to prepare them for the organized league beginning in 3rd grade.
Basketballs will be provided. Bring tennis shoes and a water bottle
Leave your name and email in your child's registration stating you would like to coach. You will be contacted prior to the start of the season. This is a great way to to be able to work side by side with our high school coaches to learn the basics of basketball and the best drills to use while coaching our youth athletes.
