Anthony Wayne Youth Foundation

The AWYFL Tackle Football program is designed to introduce  boys and girls entering 3rd through 6th grades during the 2024-2025 school year to the game of tackle football. This is a fun program for learning fundamentals and developing skills in a competitive environment in order to help pave the way for Junior High and High School football participation. This program is available to those within the Anthony Wayne Community (first priority for team placement) and to anyone in Northwest Ohio Area if their community does not have a team that competes in the NWOYFL. No athletes within the AW School District will be turned away if they are registered before June 17, 2024.

 

Coaches Meeting
Individuals volunteering to coach will be contacted prior to season.

 

Player Combine
Combine is required for all players and will be held at Blue Creek fields in Whitehouse, OH
Monday July 29 & Tuesday July 30

 

Players should wear comfortable athletic clothing, football cleats, and bring a filled water bottle.

 

Equipment Handout & Uniform Sizing
This will occur in the month of June on 3 separate dates for those registered.

 

Practices
Practices begin Week of July 29, 2024.

 

Between July 29-September 6
Practices are 4 days per week. Monday-Thursday at 5:00pm-7:00pm
Some Friday and Saturday practices are mixed in with advanced notice.

 

Once games begin in September
Practices are 2 days per week: Monday & Thursday from 5:00pm-7:00pm
*May start at 4:30pm when it starts to get dark early
 

Players should wear a mouth guard, given football protective equipment (girdle integrated into given pants) and practice uniform, football cleats, and bring a filled water bottle to each practice.

 

Games
Games will begin the weekend after Labor Day and conclude the weekend of October 26/27, 2024.
Games are typically played on either Saturday or Sunday at various locations within Northwest Ohio.
AWYFL's Home game field for this season is the University of Toledo Glass Bowl!

 

NOTE: All league paperwork (Photos or PDF copies) must be submitted IN THIS REGISTRATION PAGE. This paperwork includes Athlete's Birth Certificate, Athlete's Upcoming 2024-2025 Class Schedule (must include full name, school, and grade), and Clear Solo Photo of Athlete taken within last year.

Program Fees Include

Uniforms, Protective Equipment usage and recertification, practice equipment, first aid kits and coaching equipment, referee fees, administrative dues, insurance-liability coverage, coaches background checks, and facility rental fees. **Parents are responsible for providing cleats.**
