Anthony Wayne Youth Foundation

AWJC is proud to offer a fun recreational option for 4th-6th Graders for the 2024-2025 School Year to get introduced to cheerleading, learn the fundamentals, and continue to build on their skills year after year. All abilities are welcome as AWJC is an inclusionary program. Tackle Cheer includes learning and performing a half-time dance, as well as more advanced cheers. Tackle games are on Sundays and travel to various locations each week - including the UT Glass Bowl.

This program is available to those athletes within the Anthony Wayne District and surrounding Northwest Ohio areas.

Squad Placement

Squad rosters will be released when football schedules are released. Squad accommodations will be made to the best of our abilities, but no requests are guaranteed.

Practice Schedule
Practices will be held at Blue Creek Recreation Area on the North End near the soccer fields/quarry.

All Squads practice Mondays & Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm beginning August 1st until September 5th (no practice labor day).
After September 5th, all squads practice on Mondays only from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Players are asked to wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and tennis shoes. Bring a filled water bottle.

Game Day Tackle Cheer Schedule

Games will be one day a week (on Sundays) beginning the weekend after labor day. All squad schedules align with the AWYFL Tackle football schedules.

Program Fee includes

First aid and coaching supplies, bows, administrative dues, insurance-liability coverage, coaches background checks, and facility rental fees. 

UNIFORM NOTES

Uniforms are not included in the above registration fee (bow will be only element provided). We will be reusing the same uniforms and poms from the 2023 season. All players are required to have every piece of the uniform which includes shell top, skirt, jacket, white socks, white tennis shoes (as white as possible), black or royal blue boy shorts/cartwheel shorts, bow, and pom poms.

Parents required to find externally: white tennis shoes, white socks, and boy shorts/cartwheel shorts.
