Welcome to the 2023-2024 AWGTB Girls Travel Basketball Tryouts! The Girls Travel Basketball program is designed to educate and empower confident young ladies through the sport of basketball. We develop and teach all players the same basketball language,  fundamentals, and strategies to build continuity and consistency within each level of the Lady Generals basketball program from 3rd grade to 12th grade.

Tryouts are offered for FREE to all girls in 3rd-6th grade who live within the Anthony Wayne School District, or attend and Anthony Wayne School, for the 2023-2024 school year.

Dates/Times:

Session One: Sunday October 1, 2023
4:00pm-5:00pm - 3rd & 4th graders
5:00pm-6:00pm - 5th graders
6:00pm-7:00pm - 6th graders

Session Two: Sunday October 8, 2023
4:00pm-5:00pm - 3rd & 4th graders
5:00pm-6:00pm - 5th graders
6:00pm-7:00pm - 6th graders

*Please arrive 15 min early to check-in. Try-out sessions are closed to parents.*

**Players are required to attend at least 1 tryout session to be eligible for team placement. Attending both tryout session is advised as it offers the best chance for a thorough skills evaluation.**

Location:

Both sessions will be located at Anthony Wayne High School

What to Bring to Try-outs:

Filled water bottle, indoor basketball/tennis shoes, and wear athletic clothing.
Basketballs will be provided.

Further try-out Information:

Specific try-out information and team notification for parents and participants will be provided via email PRIOR to the first try-out date.

Team Placement Notification: Your child will be notified via email within 48 hours of the last try-out date regarding team placement. Families will have 24 hours to accept or deny their spot on the team.

Program Costs: Player fees range from $250-$450/player. Full uniform must be purchased for first year players. Uniform pieces are available as needed for veteran players. Program fees are due by Friday October 20th.

Parent Meeting: A parent informational meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday October 11th to discuss the upcoming season.

Season Commitment: Our practices begin the last week of October and extend until Early March. Practices are Mandatory and held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm at a local Anthony Wayne School. Each team is placed in a local Northwest Ohio league and travels to 3-4 tournaments throughout the season.

We highly encourage all those who do not make a team to participate in our Anthony Wayne Junior Generals Basketball Rec League. Registration closes on Sunday October 22nd with practices beginning the week of October 30th.
