Welcome to 2023-2024 AWGTB (Boys) Travel Basketball Tryouts! Registration for Tryouts is FREE for all participants.  This program is is available for boys in 3rd-6th grade who live in the Anthony Wayne School district or attend and Anthony Wayne School.

          The Anthony Wayne Generals Travel Basketball Program exists for the purpose of creating an atmosphere and environment where young athletes within the Anthony Wayne school system can learn to compete at a high level while at the same time developing as young men.

Our purpose will be accomplished through:

• a thorough and fair evaluation and selection process
• Teaching the fundamentals of basketball, the value of hard work, the importance of discipline, and the life-long lessons of teamwork
• competing against high levels of competition within and outside of northwest Ohio
• at all times operating with integrity, character, honesty, and sportsmanship as we represent our families, school, and community

Saturday September 23, 2023
Saturday September 30, 2023

Times:
3rd grade: 2:00pm-3:15pm
4th grade: 3:15pm-4:30pm
5th grade: 4:45pm-6:00pm
6th grade: 6:00pm-7:15pm
**Please arrive 20 min early for check-in

**ALL prospects will be required to attend both tryout dates to maximize exposure for all prospects.**

Location:
Both sessions are located in the Anthony Wayne Junior High School

What To Bring to Try-outs:
Filled water bottle, indoor basketball/tennis shoes
**Try-out sessions are closed to parents

Further Try-Out Information:
Tryout packets, outlining the process, for parents and participants will be provided via email PRIOR to the first tryout session. 

Team Placement Notification: Your child will be notified within 10 days of the last try-out date regarding team placement. Families will have 24 hours from initial contact to accept or deny their spot on the team.

Program Costs: 3rd Grade is $400/player (includes uniform package); 4th grade is $400/player; 5th grade is $450/player; 6th grade is $450/player

Season Commitment: Our practices begin in late October and extend until Early March. Practices are Mandatory and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm at a local Anthony Wayne School. Each team plays approximately 25-23 games per season. Most tournaments are located in Northwest Ohio, Southeast Michigan, and Northeast Indiana.

We highly encourage all those who do not make a team to participate in our Anthony Wayne Junior Generals Basketball Rec League. Registration closes on Sunday October 22nd with practices beginning the week of October 30th.
